The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires all impacted healthcare organisations to have adequate provision to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic protected health information (ePHI). The final Security Rule has many requirements, one of the more challenging being the audit and logging standards in §164.312 (b):
