Consul
zToolkit
CICS interface for helpdesks.
Consul zToolkit makes it easy for helpdesk staff to perform everyday user management by providing a flexible, easy-to-use interface for administrating the RACF security environment from a CICS (Customer Information Control System from IBM) terminal. Without needing extensive knowledge of RACF, users can perform RACF functions such as password resets and authorization management from a user-friendly menu, in which they see only their delegated functions and options (current methods provided by RACF only provide a limited level of granularity. Consul zToolkit increases this granularity to assign authorisations on the function level for specific sets of users and resources).
zToolkit's Features include:
- Issue virtually all RACF commands
- Fill-in-the-blanks forms
- Search profiles
- Make changes
- Naming conventions enforced with profile patterns
- Supports decentral administration
- API to perform RACF actions from applications
zToolkit also provides an Application Programming Interface (API) for CICS programs, to issue RACF commands and retrieve information from RACF profiles. The API supports high-performance and flexible access to RACF.
Business Benefit:
- Increased Productivity and Efficiency
Consul zToolkit allows your local administration to perform requested task in a faster turnaround time, since the commands are at the site in which the requests are being made. - Easy to Use
The fill-in-the-blank screens, which show each administrator only those commands they are allowed to execute, makes Consul zToolkit user friendly and easy to use with almost no learning curve. - Greater Granularity than Current RACF Methods
Consul zToolkit give you greater granularity than current RACF methods - Decentralized RACF Security Administration
Consul zToolkit allows you to decentralize your RACF security administration, by allowing you to use CICS.
