The Challenge
As part of their overall business transformation Aviva UK needed to migrate bespoke legacy applications onto a single standardised platform, in order to reduce the complexity and time to value of rolling out new business applications as well as to streamline the upkeep and maintenance of existing applications.
The Solution
Aviva's requirement was for Pirean to design and implement a new standards-based IBM-centric virtualisation platform, that enables an easy path to migration of legacy applications and a reduced lead time to deployment of new applications - a dramatic reduction was called for from an average of 6 months down to as few as 7 days.
Pirean's solution incorporates a number of features, including:
- IBM Tivoli Access Manager (TAM)
- IBM Tivoli Identity Manager (TIM)
- IBM Tivoli Application Dependency Discovery Manager (TADDM)
- Virtualisation
